Epiphone Texan reissue without pick-up

Hi. I'm a late-in-life guitar learner who's just graduating from my old nylon stringed classical to a steel string.

I've just bought a second-hand Epiphone FT-79AN "Inspired by Texan" and was surprised that it doesn't have a pick-up. I thought this Texan reissue always had a pick-up. Can anyone tell me if that's correct?

If it helps, the serial no. is 1007171381.

Thanks.

Did you check inside the soundhole? There might be a battery case towards the neck and sound controls inside the soundhole under the soundhole's top. I missed seeing them at first on my EL-00 that I obtained used.

Thanks for the response Jeff.

Nope, definitely nothing there. Where is the lead meant to connect?

The next questions would be: Is there a jack to plug a cord into from the end pin? Or any wires inside the guitar? (Use a flashlight and mirror if needed.). Anyone else able to chime in who has an Inspired by Texan? I don't have one, but the Inspired by Texan on the Epiphone product site shows it as having a pickup. ? It's possible someone who owned it before you removed it.
