Californiaman
Watching the live stream from Golden Gate Park tonight. Noticed one glaring omission with Sturgill Simpson's band. Sturgill's lead guitarist Laur James is no longer touring with Sturgill. It was announced that he left the band on Facebook “We’re all very sad to say that after nearly four years Laur Joamets has decided it’s time to move on to pursue greener pastures and a gig with little more wiggle room for him to stretch out,” Simpson writes on Facebook. “It’s been a pleasure and an honor watching him grow into one of the baddest guitar players on the planet and everyone in the band wishes him the best in his future endeavors.” Wow. kelly campbell
I hate to hear that because I really do like his band. I hope it does not change the sound too much. I really like Sturgill, he is a throw back to the old time Country.

I really like Sturgill, he is a throw back to the old time Country. How could it not? As I understand it Sturghill is back on lead guitar. He's capable enough, but not like Laur! It seemed to me the new album focused a lot on horns and stuff anyway, and I'm hoping Laur finds a gig where he can really cut loose.

Californiaman
Thank you for that Surfpup. In return, some good reading. Premier Guitar Article Oh, and here he is with the new Fender Custom Pro Amp with a 15" speaker. Patrick Sweany is up first then Laurs. By the way, this amp sounds killer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSBdGzE_bGY
