Someone local is selling a very unique looking 1948 Gibson guitar. I am a collector, and I am very interested in it since I have never seen anything like it before. The guy is clueless as to what model it is, all he knows is that it is a 1948. Any ideas? Value?

It's a Kay. I don't know why it says Gibson on it and it's hard to see what work might have been done to the headstock to make it SAY Gibson but it's a Kay.

The pickguard looks like it came from a Heritage.

Spot on as usual, ksdaddy.
