Riffster Posted October 17, 2017 Share Posted October 17, 2017 I've had a Mesa 5:25 head for almost 9 years and it is a great amp, I paired it with a 3/4 closed back loaded with a Shadow 90. I did not care for the Vintage 30 cab, to me seems like Vintage 30s sound better on 2x12s or 4x12s I have not experience with other Mesa amps but to me this 5:25 will be an amp I keep for life. rct Posted October 17, 2017 Share Posted October 17, 2017 My first experience with Mesa was Son Of Boogie I think, cane front, 300 pounds of single 12, about...1983 maybe? Didn't have it long, couldn't get a decent bar band sound out of it. Used a .22 a few times in the late 90's, early 2000's, it wasn't mine. I was ok with it. That's it.
