Fats has left the stage, RIP!

Well at least he enjoyed life for 89 years unlike so many other of our favorite musicians who died much earlier, or before they may have fulfilled their potential. Fats was popular before most of us were listening or playing pop music but I think it's a tribute to him how many people covered and modernized his songs over the years.

He played NOLA style piano, but with a softer touch.

I can hear is influence in Dr.John and others who came after he made the scene.

R.I.P. and thanks for the tunes.

Long John Baldry also had much of Fats Dominoes influence in his sound, and that young keyboard genius Elton John was a major reason Baldry had that vibe

"Dion" is still here, and his recent "Bronx In Blue" and "Son Of Skip James" albums are good examples of old acoustic blues done in a more modern style.

I will have to check those out I have always liked Dion's music... thanks for posting this. Dion has a lot of great hits from yesterday.
