I played both SG Std.'s today, again. They both play, and sound the same, but for some reason I'm playing the Walnut more. I can't explain it, just the way it is.

I sold three Fender Basses to acquire these two SG Std.'s. A USA Geddy Lee Jazz, a Mustang PJ, and a Special Edition Deluxe PJ Precision. I don't miss the Fender basses at all.

The D'Addario ETB92M Nylons are playing well on the SG Std.'s. I thought about going with flats for a while, but I just like the feel, and the sound of the nylons.

I saw today that SamAsh.com is selling 2018 SG Std.'s at $1,429. $130. Higher than the $1,299. price on Sweetwater.com.

I've decided I'm going to sell the Heritage Cherry SG Std. Bass, and keep the Walnut. They both play, and sound the same.

I did sell the Heritage Cherry today as I had planed to do. One thing nice about having just the one SG Std., it takes the decision process out of which SG Std. to play.

The SG Std. is sounding great through the Ampeg V-4B / SVT-212AV. A Gibson SG Std. with Tubes, and two 12's.

Weather it's being played through an Ampeg head, or any other bass head, the SG Std. sounds really good. I obviously prefer it to any other bass. The ETB92M Nylon strings boosts it along as well.

I'm thinking the Walnut SG Std. has a better setup on the neck, than the Heritage Cherry did. They were setup by two different Gibson techs, before leaving the barn. I saw that on the check cards signed off for both of the SG Std.'s.

I'm still watching Sam Ash selling the SG Std.'s for $1,429., and Sweetwater selling them $1,299. [rolleyes]

I love playing my SG Std. But ever since I acquired the Ampeg half stack, it's the best playing. Gibson Basses, and Ampeg Amps, a great match up.

I'm glad Les Paul didn't like the SG body shape back then. It's a great design body as the SG. Posted Image

Sweetwater must have had the SG Std.'s on sale. I just noticed their price is now, $1,429. for the 2018 SG Std.'s, the same as Sam Ash. I do like the $1,299. price tag I acquired mine at.

Nice SG Bass, I play a 1994 SG guitar. My brother plays bass, I'll have to show this to him. He's been thinking about getting an SG bass for some time. Keep rocking!

From what I've seen, and heard from others, the 2018 SG Std.'s are top quality.

I always thought if I was stupid enough to buy another 6 stringer, it would be another SG Jr. like I had in 1968. I just like the SG style body for a guitar, or bass.
