Island Texan
I have a Blueshawk with very surface type scratches from fingernails and perhaps plectrums. Normally I wouldn’t care about these but I am considering selling this guitar. Dunlop polish is not sufficient. Any advice on buffing out such scratches without significant damage to the underlying finish? I see all sorts of advice on the internet about using the Maguire products as well as toothpaste and even 2000 grit sandpaper with mineral oil. I'm just a bit confused and would like to hear of the experience of others. Oh, by the way, this guitar is black, so the blemish is more obvious. Thanks in advance
Rabs
A lot of people on here have had great results with virtuoso polish... https://www.amazon.com/Virtuoso-Premium-Instrument-Polish-Cleaner/dp/B0088Q50BM Some people have used that to turn a satin finish in to a gloss one with great results. Pinch
I'll do my best Big Bill impression here: I'll give you five bucks for it, and I'll even pay to have it delivered. Sorry. I know the feeling. I'm OCD like that too.
kidblast
I have virtuoso, it's a great polish & cleaner, but IME doesn't get rid of these kind of scratches like Maguires Scratch X does
btoth76
Hello. EternaShine Scratch Remover is formulated for guitars. I used it many times with perfect results. I advise to carefully follow the instructions, though. Best of luck... Bence
