Les Paul Deluxe

This guitar has been gigged heavily since mid 70’s,

still use it today for all of the bands Allman bros tunes.

Lots of “buckle rash” but neck and sunburst body are in great physical shape, all original except for new fret job in 2006.

Gibson says it is a 1971, any idea of $$$ value?

I owned a 1971 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe gold-top, from 1976 until 1978, when I joined the Army.

Sold it because needed the money, and because I foolishly thought that Army guys didn't play guitars.

Worth at least $3,000 now.

(I sold the son of a ***** for $700, with a Fender Twin Reverb amp.)

Stupid.

Well, sellers are asking $3k and I don't see them moving at that price. I paid $1,800 for my '81 Deluxe in very good condition with only a slight amount of buckle rash and all original: I wouldn't have paid more than that and wouldn't pay much more for a '71.
