holyjaguar
I have a `63ish,GA-8T Discoverer,Brown tolex, brown grill cloth. The amp has 2 inputs-and a monitor, input ?The amp does not make any sound when plugged into 1 or 2 inputs, but does when plugged into the monitor input, anybody have any ideas as to the problem? All solder joints are good on 1+2,both 6eu7 pre-amp tubes are good,(and it also works with my 12ax7 to 6eu7 converters),But it may be bypassing bothpre-amp tubes,as it does not get louder,or break up as I turn the volume up.Any Ideas? Jeffytune
I do not know your level of expertise so please understand, I will always error on the side of safety. With an amp of this age, it most likely a bad cap, I strongly suggest you take this amp to a qualified tech for repairs.
holyjaguar
Thanks for the response Jeffeytune,I will probably replace the power Cap,before anything else, but just wonder why it will work through the monitor jack, but Not the 1or2 input.I will have someone else suss that out for me,but I`m a one hand in my pocket kinda guy. When I said the amp does not get louder,It does play Loud, just not on a soft to loud scale, and not dirty. Jeffytune
I would need to put eyeballs on it, and test.
