70Falcon
hey, folks. just got an '88 MIK Epi Sheraton and was wondering what material its black-colored nut is made of?? thanks... Perhaps Graph Tech or Delrin? I would guess the nut has been changed as my '89 Sheraton's nut is white, and original.
TNTONE
ok, got an email back from Epiphone that tells me this model, like most Epis, has a nut made of ABS plastic--regardless of its color... now we know...

70Falcon
Graph Tech is not a type of material That came from Dan Erlewine's "How To Make Your Electric Guitar Play Great" book. On page 62 "... a nut made from self-lubricating material like Graph Tech.". That's why I mentioned it, but didn't realize that it wasn't a type of material. Sorry... vomer
That was probably from the time when Graph Tech made only Tusq nuts. Now they also have Nu Bone, which is a type of Tusq anyway, so I don't think it's incorrect to think of Graph Tech as a type of material when you're thinking about nuts, even though that is the company name. Can't tell much from your pic, but from what I can see it looks like that could be Tusq. Does it play OK?
