jackcrowder
Hi, we're looking at a 2016 Dove. I haven't been able to find any information about what type glue is used. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
E-minor7
I haven't been able to find any information about what type glue is used. Guess that's the reason it's called hide glue, ho hoh ho. . No, I'm actually not sure if they still use that in the new guitars. Could be. A good idea starting up here with glue-Q ^ welcome
j45nick
By the Gibson Acoustic website, the only listing for the 2016 Dove is the Doves in Flight model, which specifies Franklin Titebond 50 for general construction. Neck joint would be hide glue for easier disassembly. This is the standard glue combination for Gibson acoustics, unless the specs for a special model say otherwise. When a model uses other glues--specifically hide glue for things other than the neck dovetail--they highlight it as a selling point.
