'burst Question

Sunbursts are hard to photograph accurately, but your B-45 appears to have a faded cherry sunburst, which may have been brighter when the guitar was new. Your Dove looks to have what I would call a standard Gibson sunburst, which generally has less red pigment and more black pigment, but there are so many tonal variations on the sunburst that the term "standard" is meaningless.

Brown pigment is usually some combination of red, black, and yellow. A standard sunburst is made by combining those in varying proportions.

As far as I know, the B45-12 only came in a cherry burst until 1967 when the tobacco burst made a comeback. The natural tops became a standard option on the B45-12 in 1963 although you can run across some earlier Custom Shop versions with that feature.
