String adapter for Synapse XS-1FPA TA - how to?

So I have a Steinberger Synapse XS-1FPA TA and want to use flatwound strings... there are not many choices. So I purchased an XL4 string adapter. But I have no clue how to use it. It came without instructions, and other than expected it's not self-explaining.

Who can help me? :-)

The XL adapter is made for the classic USA basses which don't have a "combined headpiece" like your Synapse bass. You can use double and single ball end strings without an additional adapter. That's what the screws on top of your installed headpiece are made for. Loosen the screws, and feed the string ends through the opening, until they come out on the upper end of the headpiece. Here are the official instructions for guitar.
