Steve Cox
Hello fellow gibsonites. I have been playing my guitars for about 50 years. But brain surgery about 4 years ago made me start learning all over again. I have a Gibson SG that I purchased from a friend back in 72-73. I would like to find the production year for my little baby but have been running into some conflicting info. Serial on lt is 736022. Hope someone could tell me where to look for good info. I have always had other guitars to play including a GE hollow body. So the SG is still in perfect condition. So it has never been abused and the frets and action feels like band new. Hi Steve, just wanted to say best of luck with the learning after your surgery. I too had a brain tumor that was cancer so know what it's like. I had to learn stuff all over again but that was 30 years ago as of this September 12. By the way, have you called or E-mailed Gibson Customer Service? 5 years back I bought a Gibson and wanted info on it, Call, 1-800-4GIBSON or E-mail, service@gibson.com I gave them the serial and model numbers and they told me the year it was made in the shop, The plant it was made at and the price it sold for new. They will answer any other questions you might have on it too.
