removing a neck is a bit beyond my wheel house,,, but yea that is a pretty good setup.

 

 

Stew Mac is crazy sometimes.

 

they charge like 100 bucks for a fret scale length gauge straight edge (good for checking your relief for critical setups.. I got one from Amazon that does the job for like 20 bucks.

Yeah, they have been offering that for a bit now. What I always wondered about was that neck heater Stewmac used to sell that was made by LMI. It clamped onto the neck and used heat and pressure to straighten it out. Cost about $500 when it was available. Aria also offered one for a while but was asking $1K for it.

It came out great. I have a Custom from 1984 made to the pre-war specs. Brazilian, German Spruce, thick neck, bar frets, herringbone.

I had him replace the fretboard using standard frets, put a truss rod in and reshape the neck.
