blakef
I'm hoping the moderator or someone with proper connections will be kind enough to take this to Gibson Engineering and really PUSH this. Johan Segeborn did a very scientific comparison of a 2008 Gibson bridge with a 50's bridge (which is pre-59 because of the curvature). The difference is truly amazing. Just beautiful. Anyone interested in beautiful tone needs to watch below. He compared the bridges together, then just the saddles, then just the bridge. Gibson has re-issued a Historic bridge based on a '59, likely because of the fawning of 'anything '59' but the pre-59 bridge is simply amazing. I applaud Gibson for the time, effort and money they're putting in to try to recreate the best sounding guitars. I really hope this video can make it to those who can dissect this exact bridge model and re-create it exactly. Yes, that would probably push the cost into the $300+ area but there are those of us willing to pay it. Thanks in advance to anyone in Gibson who will look into this...
