Buc McMaster
As mentioned some time back, the pick guard on the 35 was coming up when I bought it. Actually it was the edge all the way around that was lifting, giving the appearance of it having a raised perimeter. I ordered some 3M stick 'um stuff from StewMac as soon as I got home from the shop but it wasn't until today I did the deed. The guard peeled right up with no heat at all.......lift an edge and keep going.......bingo! Cleaned everything up with naphtha until it was spotless, stuck the stuff on the back of the guard and dropped it back on the guitar. Yea! Now it's flat all the way to the edge all around and looks like it oughta........ (Appears I missed a perfect shot on the rosette, but who's gonna know but me......) Buc McMaster
No pearl dots. Every other J-35 I've seen and most other slope shoulder models have dots, yes? Didn't notice it myself for quite some time. Other examples?

fortyearspickn
The same ones that notice .020" difference in nut width 😊 Yep. Apparently there is magnification software you can get (Inspectapedia.com?) that folks over in the lounge use to find imperfections in the finish of new Gibson.
