Best hotel ever

I had to travel to Ft. Collins, CO on business and the local people told me to get a reservation at the Elizabeth Hotel. I checked in at the front desk and turned around and saw a room filled with acoustic and electric guitars, a banjo, a mandolin and few other instruments. I looked back at the reservation clerk and he said, "Do you play? Would you like to borrow one while you are here?" I walked into the room and these were not $99 Chinese specials. The banjo was a Gibson. The mandolin was Collings. There were a couple of Gibson Les Pauls in the electric aisle along with a Gretch Falcon, and a few Epiphones. The acoustic side had a Taylor 814, a Martin 000-28EC, a Larrivee, and few Avians (never heard of them but they look expensive). I asked for the Martin, signed it out and brought it back to my room. Its in great shape. It doesn't even have any pick guard scratches. This is my second night here and I'm still amazed, not to mention having a great time.

If you ever have to visit Ft. Collins, this is the place to stay!

‘You can check out anytime you like, but you may never leave...’

Hmm, sounds great.....not like my story: Better Half and I arrived 8.45pm at hotel after boneshaker flight and delays and asked what time room service closes........’Sorry, we don’t have room service’. (Or anything resembling the word service!). BK about to eat the soap.

Hard Rock Hotel at Universal in Florida puts a Strat and a Fender Mustang floor thingy with headphones in my room before I get there. They'll do it for you too!

Yes I'll have the Club Sandwich, Onion Rings instead of fries, a Pepsi no ice, and a Strat and a Fender Mustang. Oh, and can I also get a side of distortion pedals.

Colorado has Glenwood Canyon, a drive I routinely dream about, all four seasons we've been through there.

Trail Ridge Road up in Rocky Mountain, Mesa Verde, Black Canyon, Great Sand Dunes, Four Corners. Estes Park and the Stanley Hotel, a great place for some Absinthe and to round out your The Shining trifecta of hotels.

Westbound I 70 out where that big house is on the two giant curves heading right into the mountains is one of the most exhilarating views in this country.

We'll leave Yellowstone this September and roll down the front of the mountains this time, spend a couple nights in Denver, eat good, point the car east on 70 and head home. CAN'T WAIT CAN'T WAIT CAN'T WAIT

We stayed at the Stanley Hotel about 25 years ago while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Then we did Pike's Peak, Colorado Springs, Royal Gorge Bridge and rafted on the Arkansas River out of Canon City. Colorado is an amazing place to visit anytime.

We did Yellowstone about 2 years ago - afterwards we went through the Grand Tetons and stayed a couple days in Jackson before flying home. Sounds like a great trip-enjoy.

That is amazing! What a great idea for a hotel! We stayed in a pretty nice place last time through Idaho Falls (the C'mon Inn, which also had a nice riverwalk. You had to bring your own guitar, though)....
