Long to short pickguard on 355

Finally got my 355 and it’s without a doubt my new favourite guitar, the only thing I’m not really crazy about it is the long bright tortoise pickguard that always looks a bit awkward to me. I’ve been thinking about swapping that for a short darker one. Have anyone here done that? I was looking the bracket angle and I’m not quite sure if I’d be able to use the hole that it’s already there and if I have to drill a new one I’ll probably just try to get use to the long pickguard.

I had a tortoise on my BB King and I put a black on it and it looks much better. I also put a washer on the switch and took the brass TRC off and installed a solid black one.

It had a long pickguard before? If so, did you have any trouble with the bracket’s angle when putting the short one?
