DavyR
Anyone here own an IBJL Casino or know the following? Is the neck 'chunky' as in a C or Fat D profile, and NOT a Slim Taper D? Are there ANY Casinos with a 'chunky' neck profile other than vintage, if that? The IBJL seems to be the only one that I hear that may have a thick neck profile. Thanks! LOSTVENTURE
I've only had experience with a few, but found that the neck profiles, while chunkier than most, were not particularly consistent. In fact, I've played several of the standard models that had beefier profiles, but again, nothing consistent. So, what I'm saying is that this is not something that can be generalized. You need to sit down with one and see what you think.
DavyR
Thanks for the response. Yes, so far, I have read/heard the word "chunky" associated only with the IBJL Casino neck...
CasinoGambler
Hi, bit of a late response here. I too have an IBJL and wouldn’t say that the neck is that thick. I’d notice as I have small hands. If this is any help to you I have an old MIJ Baja Tele and that does have a thick neck, the Casino isn’t chunky like that one. Lord Summerisle
I had a 2009 standard Casino (not an IBJL or any other special model) with a tree-trunk neck like a '59 Les Paul. An internet purchase I came to regret. Couldn't get along with it, so traded it.
Parabar
Mine is a 2001 Peerless-made one, and the neck is fairly thick. I like it.
DavyR
Thanks for the responses. Yeah, my friend found an IBJL and the neck was NOT thick. Too many inconsistencies of necks within the same models, etc. Like they said above, you gotta have the guitar in your hands to really check it out... LOSTVENTURE
For what it's worth, inconsistent neck profiles is a common trait among all Gibson models, foreign and domestic.
