Borgward1 Posted September 3, 2018 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I need factory setup specs for 1977 Gibson Ripper Bass. How high should strings be over fretboard at the nut and at the last fret? Is the neck supposed to be perfectly straight, or slightly concave over it's length? I have been using this Bass for about 30 years. The last time I changed strings I found it impossible to get the intonation right for the D string. I have always used Rotosound RN 66LD strings. Could not buy them at any music stores so found them on eBay. Suspect they may be bogus. They had always had red thread on them at the tuner end. Theses ones were plain and I am getting a black residue on my fingers. Never had that happen before. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
