gruffydd3
I recently got a 1997 ES-295. This is the one that comes with a Bigsby. I've seen conflicting stories about where it was made. I've read that it is a custom shop guitar. It's not, it doesn't have a CS serial number. The case says Gibson USA so that's Nashville, right? On the other hand, I thought all archtops were made in Memphis. I'm confused.
Larsongs
No. Some Archtops were made in Memphis for a while. From what I've heard they are exlnt Guitars... Most are made in Nadhville..
merciful-evans
Its not uncommon to get a case that didnt originate with the guitar. You might get more info from the Memphis forum.
gruffydd3
I contacted Gibson. It was made in Nashville. Not custom shop. They said the Memphis plant didn't open until about 2000 and this one is a '97.
