80LPC Posted March 7, 2009 Share Posted March 7, 2009 And the fastest players are usually legato style - no 'speed picking'. - Holdsworth, Shawn Lane etc. Picking every note cleanly, and gradually speeding up is a great disipline. It's important to learn these techniques at a slow speed first - otherwise you are just practicing high speed mistakes. A lot of the frustration comes from badly set up guitars.
