Hi Guys,

I am new to all this and unfortunately have been bitten by the bug. Picked up a few guitars over the last week or so. The cream of the crop is a 61 Epi Elite SG in Ebony.

Have heard good things about them, but as a novice probably couldn't tell the difference if I tried from a cheap version. My playing will not justify the kit for many years to come but as I have just retired I decided to learn a new skill!

Hmmm....... this is the second post on this guitar I replied to today...:)

SG G400 Pro specs....... if this is what you have .... enjoy...

Edit Update... The Elite or Elitist is a higher end SG than the current G400 Pro, produced in the 90s in Japan with a solid mahogany body and better parts. Sometimes built with the Gibson style headstock or the older style Epi headstock (below). The nutplate says either Elitist or Gibson like yours. Usually valued at 2 or 3 times the value of the G400 Pro in good used condition. The Elitist considered to be better than its Gibson counterpart.. Enjoy...................

Welcome, John.

That is a fine guitar, sir.

And there are plenty of players here willing to offer advice and tips on learning the maddening art of guitar playing and guitar collecting.

(They seem to go hand in glove.)

My given name is John, though nobody calls me that, generally speaking.

My wife and my dogs call me Sparky.
