huckster
I've heard the 339 studio has the '57 classic pups in it. I am looking at a '17 model that the owner tells me has burstbuckers in it. Is this another name for the 57's or did some of the 339 studio models come with pups other than 57 classics? I thought all the 339 studio's had '57 classics. thanks
merciful-evans
My ES-339 Studio has Classic 57s. Its a 2015 model. Burstbuckers are a different pickup. They sound very different from 57s. Its possible different pickups were used in different years.
merciful-evans
If you fish the pickups out, the white label on the back should show what it is. This is mine (the white scrawl was done on my phone to remind me what guitar it was).
Wmachine
Do you mean a 2017 model or 2017 date made? Not the same thing. If it is a 2016 model made in 2017, it has 57 classics..
gnappi
I'm awaiting the arrival of a 2018 339 and it has MHS pups. I'm not too happy about that because some MHS pups sound very good, others are shrill like the SD "jazz" model or BB's. I'll have to wait and see. I have some 57's to replace them with should I not like them, then I can sell the MHS to some pup swapping sucker... ahem discerning pup Connoisseur for stupid dollars:-)
