ryanfender
The handle on the case for my Gibson J-200 is fraying and coming apart. Its one of the brown leather type case from the early 1990s with the "Elvis" cape. The handle itself is a brown leather rope type handle that goes through to U-brackets. Has anyone replaced these and what have you used? I have been looking at handles at Elderly but not sure if some of their replacements will work well. I have been told that a handle from a TKL case will work well.
L5Larry
You can have a luggage repair shop order in and install any type handle you want. BUT, if you want an original Gibson handle to replace that one, I've got two I removed and replaced because I didn't like the soft handle. I have also seen the Gibson replacements on e-bay under the search heading "Gibson Parts". You'll probably still need the luggage repairman to pull the rivets that attach the brackets, and then re-rivet them over the new handle.

sjl200
Speaking of cases is there an upgrade over the "standard" hard shell that comes with a new Gibson from Bozeman? If so are they "worth it" ...what ever that cost would be :-
