tfaux
Can someone tell me what "Historic Collection" means in a 2005 Advanced Jumbo? Appointments? Structural difference? Case? Price? I'm thinking of buying one but the current owner isn't sure what it means and it doesn't appear to be posted on the gibson website. thanks, Tom
Rambler
"Historic" was a kind of catch all for Gibson at the time. It covered, among others, the stnd issue J45 with the pickup (what became the mod. classic), the strictly acoustic AJ reissue (what one might expect form a historic/true vintage designation), and special runs like the 34 Jumbo (which is more like custom shop). Go figure. So, your hist. AJ a Sitka, Indian rosewood AJ w/typical AJ bracing.. Nothing special in other words, other than an AJ is special.
