hjc333
I have a 1947 Southern Jumbo Reissue (RW back and sides). I've got the urge to get a pickup for it. I know I don't want to have anything invasive done to my guitar. Would something like the K&K diminish my guitar's value because the pickups are attached with adhesive? Maybe I should just get another acoustic guitar that comes with pickups ? Thanks
Acousticat
I know I don't want to have anything invasive done to my guitar. Would something like the K&K diminish my guitar's value because the pickups are attached with adhesive? I just had a Fishman Matrix Infinity installed on my J-45. It has Separate volume and tone controls, plus a bass booster that has 2 setting for the bass. Sounds much better then the L R Baggs. Very easy to put in and take out. http://www.fishman.com/products/details.asp?id=
magnucifer
Take a look at these. I replaced the LR Baggs in my Hummingbird with one of those, and I think they're standard in the Gibson Emmylou Harris L-200. Sounds fantastic... dberch
K&K is an excellent choice. It will not lower the value of your instrument one bit. They sound fantastic: Natural, woody tone. I have them in four guitars and each guitar sounds just like itself live. David
ballcorner
I like the Schatten pickups available here: http://schattendesign.com/ They have non-invasive mounts that are absolutely excellent. I like the pickups that are not active and I run external tube preamps for them - you might want an active model - they do both, and there is a new twist. They also have a new pickup I haven't yet tried that gets phantom power from a board or preamp. So, it uses a normal 1/4" jack out from the guitar to an XLR end.
