Alright, so we've been neglecting all your metal heads out there lately. Well, it certainly wasn't intentional, and if you're lucky maybe we'll make up for lost time with a few killer metal lessons over the next few days. Maybe!

Anyway, let's kick start some metal attitude with an excellent lesson from our friend Vafa Mottahedin, aka RedSGShredder. Vafa's a metal guitarist from California who's made quite a name for himself making videos for friends and fans all over the world. His signature style is heavy machine gun riffing, and screaming guitar solos with wildly outrageous vibrato. His weapon of choice is, of course, a beautiful red Gibson SG.

Today's lesson finds Vafa in a mellow mood, showing all metal heads how to set up their guitars for metal shredding. Everyone has to set up their guitar to their own liking, but in this nearly 10-minute video lesson, Vafa offers some great tips on how to set it up for optimum heavy metal performance, including adjusting the truss rod, setting the intonation, and adjusting the height of the strings—all essential tips for any guitar player.

And don't forget to check back tomorrow for another killer lesson from Gibson Lifestyle! If you're lucky, we'll throw another metal lesson up there for ya.
