casino 'elite' pickup replacements

hand

Recommended Posts

odd, had placed this earlier. now it's missing. is gibson still taking down any posts they do not approve of?

basically i bought a elite casino a year ago. need replacement pickups as they were damaged.

gibson refers you to dealers. no one sells the elite pickups.

i am wondering why this type of pickup; (read the bridge pickup size may differ from the

regular casino) is impossible to purchase, esp. if you are an actual registered owner of one.

seemingly there are a myriad of other guitar pups replacements, but not the elite.

can purchase on one site but again i don't know if it will fit the casino.

why can no one at gibson answer this question, but refer me to

dealers. one such dealer's website here in ny, when you select the gibson link

(as if to purchase pickups), they lead right back to the gibson website,

which does not sell them. 'sorry we do not sell casino pickups, you must purchase from the dealer'.

really bizarre.

any ideas of why this lunacy persists,

& why gibson is still taking down posts

as if we are in kindergarden, (tho covered ad nauseum

last year), would be appreciated.

if they don't want me to mention other sites here, that's ok with me

but then why not supply some information regarding the purchase of a new set.

bought the guit. in good faith.

getting a pickup doesn't seem like too much to ask.

bad business policy for casino enthusiasts.

that doesn't really make sense if what you mean is that

the post got no response.

it was only up for a few hours.

that is obviously not adequate time.

kind of an absurd response actually, (yours).

it is a post that deserves an answer, either from gibson,

or some interested party/reader.

No, your original post isn't missing, it's on page two.

As for your question about the P-90s, here's the info on the Armstrong Casino pups:

Alnico / D.C. =7.8k- The classic P-90 pickup with a fat, rich single coil tone. A great balance of EQ covering the entire sonic spectrum has helped to garnish this pickup with rave reviews from all who have dared to use it. A flexible pickup that sounds great in low, medium or the highest of high gain situations. Replacement for Epiphone casino, ES-330, etc. Important dimensions: body opening requirements- length - 3 5/16 in. Width - 1 5/16 in. Cover size- length - 4 13/16 in. to ends of tabs width - 1 5/8 in. Center to center mounting hole spacing - 3 13/16 in. Cover height - 3/8 in. Polepiece spacing - 10.4 mm

I don't have an Elitist on hand, but 3/8" height on the neck pup might just about make it on my Revolution. Close call, that's what I would be concerned about. I would measure how high the neck sits by the pickup and go by that. Because the P-90s don't have height adjustments, it can be frustrating trying to find the correct set.

Good luck.

you might want to actually read the responses you get...a simple click

was not deleted...
