What are your guys current rigs (guitars, pedals, amps, etc.)? I'd be cool to hear what you guys play your epis through.

Mine favorite equipment consists of

1996 Gibson (sorry) Les Paul Studio>Jimi Hendrix Wah>(Sometimes)Digitech Badmonkey>DS-1>Boss ME-50(Compressor, chorus, delay, noise suppressor, metal distortion, volume pedal) >Traynor YCV50 Blue.

I'm digging the sound a lot. I'd like to upgrade the ME-50 for a bunch of single effects so I can use the effects loop on the amp. I just got the amp and I like it a lot!

I haven't gigged since the mid '80s, I do mostly recording. The days of 4-track open reel Teacs are long gone, I have a computer set just for recording. It has a SoundBlaster Live panel in one of the drive bays with midi inputs, mic/guitar inputs, headphone jacks, line in & line out jacks, volume controls for everything, works great and very convenient. I use to plug the guitar directly into it and use the effects in my Sonar software to shape the tone, but now I've been using a Line 6 Guitar Port.

For midi, I have a Godin nylon string solid body acoustic that's Roland ready with a Roland GI-20 computer interface. I have a set of midi drums with a drum machine.

If I want to play live, I have 4 amps that I use. My main amps are a Vox Valvetronix AD30VT and a KMD GS45. The KMD is an 1980s amp, made in England, 45 watts with a 12" Celestron speaker. Really nice amp for that British overdrive sound. Since I don't gig, I don't need big stacks so I like smaller amps that sound big, if you know what I mean. I also have a 1960s Haynes Bass King and a Marshall Lead 20. The Marshall has a Roland processor plugged in to it, I use that if I want to play synth guitar.

My pedals are basically what I've used for the last 30/40 years, a Cry Baby Wha and a Big Muff. I also have an Ibanez DE-7 digital delay/Echo.

I do have a nice 4-track Yamaha cassette deck that I haven't used much, but someday I would like to record something the old fashion way.

My favorite guitars right now are:

'05 Epiphone '65 G-400 Limited Edition with Maestro or '03 American Fender HSS Strat.

Pedals:

Boss TU2 Tuner > Keeley Compressor > Vox V848 Wah > modified TS9 > modified TS9 > Boss RV5 Reverb > modified Boss GE-7 > Boss DD-5 > Boss CE-5 > Fulltone Supa-Trem > Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe > Ernie Ball Jr. Volume Pedal > home made A/B Box.

Favorite Amp:

Weber 6M45, a Marshall JTM45 clone I built, and a 2x12 cab loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s that I built.

I have an A/B Box at the end of my chain 'cause sometimes I play my acoustic (Martin D-19) through my pedal board and then to the mixer. I mainly use the tuner and the chorus with my acoustic.

Yes I have 2 TS9s, I have them set differently.

Friends don't let friends use solid state.

It's getting to the point where friends are having trouble determining if it's SS or not. Seriously, the hybrid amps are sounding more and more like tube amps. I was raised on tube amps (Vox Berkley, Super Beatle, Fender Bandmaster, Peavy Classic, etc.)

My current stage rig is Epi LP Custom plus flametop, Roland Cube 60, AKG wireless. I use a Fender pedal tuner and that's it. The Dyna-amp model in the Roland pretty much nails the sound I like with great picking dynamics. I gigged for 20 years and now play Christian Contemporary music at church in a 9 piece band (counting 4 backup singers).

I just bought a Vox AD50VT-2x12 to replace the Line 6 spider 75 I use at home. I think it's going to be my primary gigging amp. The Vox models are exceptionaly accurate. The Black 2x12 model nails the Twin Reverb to the point that you want to play "Pipeline" when you first dial it up. No kidding, the bell tones and the slapping reverb took me back to the old days of the Ventures. I'm playing with the models and will probably use the Black 2x12 for the clean channel and the AC30TB for distortion. Highly recommended. My Cube 60 will probably become my home practice amp soon. ( as soon as I get through playing with the Vox and am willing to leave it at church).

Guitars : either a combination of Gibson V with Burstbuckers, Gibson faded doublecut with P90s, plus Epi LP with 2 BBs and a Kent Armstrong OR if I'm in a Fender mood, Strat and Tele. It's usually the Gibsons these days.

Pedals : Seymour Duncan pickup booster, Boss Tuner, Cry Baby, Marshall Regenerator used as Chorus

Amp : Marshall TSL122 combo, channel one clean, channel two slightly dirty, channel 3 screaming. reverb as required.

Use to bounce between my Strat, '61RI and Casino depending on who I was working for, and through what ever worked..mainly Fender tube amps.

I got a Gretsch for Christmas, the inexpensive model...G5120, and I think I'm becoming a Hollowbody guy. I'm running either that and my Casino into my old '86 red knob twin now and through a delay and eq. I'll use a tube screamer or blues driver for some grit sometimes but mainly I stay pretty clean...then again next month who knows.

Nah...I think I've found the sound I like and the direction I want to go....after Lord knows how many years. Now I got to start looking for work in a different gender...and learn it too. Just never ends do it.
