epicurian Posted February 6, 2008 Share Posted February 6, 2008 hey guys,hoping someone can offer some insight.this guitar has " by gibson" on the headstock.it has no sticker inside but it does have a sticker on the back of the headstock ##11003## now ive looked around a couple of places on the web and what ive found was"serials with no letter preceeding the #were possibly made in japan.any opinions? The first Korean Epiphones were all made by Samick, Epi contracted with other Korean factories around 1192 / 1993. It was at that time that they switch to the current serial # system with the letter designating the factory. There was no need before that. Very nice guitars, btw.
