Guitar20
Just got a Sheraton II and love the tone. Does anyone know what strings come on that guitar. How much do strings have to do with the sound. Any suggestions on brand /gauge? Thanks
Billybob Dylan
Does anyone know what strings come on that guitar. They're 'Crapola' brand strings. Change them immediately. How much do strings have to do with the sound. Any suggestions on brand /gauge? Thanks I'd say quite a bit, although what you do with them is the most important. Brand & gauge is more a personal choice. I've always used Fender 10s on my Strats & Tele and they sound great. I've got Ernie Ball Slinky 10s on my Dot. That sounds great, too. NikOlas
I'm sure we all have our own ideas on what strings are best. I use D'Addario Nickel Wound Jazz Lights 12-52. But I'm a big fisted Barbarbian. . . The general rule is thicker equals "better" tone, narrower equals lighter touch and better bends. N
Nickblues1
Epi's uses 10's from the factory. I use Ernie Ball Slinky's. But you can use anything you like. Strings are the major part of a guitar's tone.
wastra
My dot super came with 11s from the factory. I asked Epi's customer service about that, and they said special orders come with whatever is requested by the customer (in this case, Music123.com). I like the heavier gauge...it's the first guitar I've had that uses them.
jwl325
I use Thomastik-Infeld Jazz/Swing Flat 10s. Use them on my Casinos as well--great strings for these guitars. Bill
TWANG
Can't remember.. guitar is 13. I use .010s.. thicker than .009s which was my preference for a long time.. Now I wont go back. and I use Everlys.. never had a bad set, never broke one, tone lasts a long time. I'm happy. TWANG
rainbowgirl22
ernie ball 11's... thicker strings sound great on semihollowbodys, and the ernies will really compliment the brightness of the sherry
