Learning some cool jazz licks can work wonders on one's guitar-playing skills. So if you're looking to spruce up your chops, today's lesson will certainly get you started in the right direction.

Instructor Billy Wilkie from Watch & Learn Video Primer shows us a few killer jazz practice exercises out of the G Major scale that can really help you boost your guitar solo skill level in no time. By listening to Wilkie's jazz take on the G Major scale, you get a totally different perspective on this basic pentatonic scale that can be applied to any genre of music.

Watch and learn as Wilkie demonstrates note for note each step of three different licks, then watch and play along with him as he jams to the practice track. It's definitely not the most exciting lesson we've ever had, but who said every practice was suppossed to be fun all the time? This is basic stuff that can help take your playing to the next level, as it has for countless other guitarists.
