T. Bone Walker was a blues legend, and his electric guitar solos were among the first to be heard on modern blues recordings. He recorded the bulk of his music between 1946-1948, including his classic "Stormy Monday," which B.B. King once said was his inspiration for picking up the guitar. He was also the childhood hero of Jimi Hendrix, and was one of the first guitarists to play his instrument using his teeth, or in other strange positions—a trait that seemed to leave a lasting impression on Hendrix.

Today's lesson is brought to you by the good people at the Berklee College of Music, and features T. Bone Walker's blues standard "Pop Ain't Salty." The instructor demonstrates how to use a metronome in learning this classic song, and shows how to play on the "2" and "4" beats as opposed to quarter notes. He shows how to effectively play and feel the "swing" beat, or "back" beat, and offers up a few practice tips to help you learn the song's bass line, and place the proper emphasis on the song's "swing" notes.
