GISON OR EPI

I hope someone can help! I bought a Gibson Explorer some time ago and am now told its an epi? How did they come to that conclusion? Well they tell me that the cover over the trussrod has 3 screws (which it does) but Gibson's only have 2? Although it is stamped on the back 'made in USA'.

Although I've never seen one, it wouldn't be out of the question to wonder if this is a fake Gibson.

I double-checked, and Gibson Explorers do have two-screw truss-rod covers. I wasn't sure, because Flying V headstocks have a unique truss rod cover, and it is three screws.

Pictures?

if it doesn't say epiphone on it' date=' it's not epiphone.

it could be a fake gibson, but it's not an epiphone.

remove the pickup rings and take a look inside the pickup cavities once. if they're painted black, it's fake. If not, I'm not sure.[/quote']

Unless its an Epiphone Allen Woody bass in which case its still an Epi.
