Modac
I've played 2 of them. They were each tight, muffled and dead sounding. Really bad. Nice looking, but not for playing.
jefleppard
hey, strawb. welcome to the forum. someone was just selling a koa j45 here. check the previous threads for pics. koa tone is usually a bit tight with good projection. not to bassy, not to shimmery but nice note separation which is good for finger picking. [/quote'] If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it wasn't all Koa. It was a custom Koa J-45, but had a spruce top. He also decided not to sell it after all. I've got one just like it and it's a great guitar.
dodge
Yep it was mine. I have heard all koa guitars take a long time to open up, so it may be the all koa J-45 needed time to come to life
