Guest Gibson Lifestyle
Lesson of the Day: Tone by Brent Mason: Nashville Legend and Valley Arts Signature Artist 07.15.2008 Brent Mason is a Nashville institution. The Valley Arts Signature Artist is simply the most in-demand session guitarist in Nashville, and has been ever since he was discovered by country legend Chet Atkins, who invited him to play on his album Stay Tuned in 1985. Since then, Mason has played for the likes of George Strait, Alan Jackson, Shania Twain, David Gates, and Neil Diamond, among others. Along the way, he has carved an identity all his own into the fabric of Nashville country music, with a tone that is instantly recognizable. He attributes much of this amazing tone to his very own Valley Arts Brent Mason Signature model. In today's lesson, Mason gives us a little demonstration as to why he's one of the hottest players in the business. He also shows off his signature Valley Arts guitar, and how he gets his legendary tone. Needless to say, it's quite the workout. And if you can't keep up, we've even got a fabulous guitar tab that was provided by Jeffrey Adams from freewebs.com/powerscribe. The lesson is definitely worth checking out. Trust us ... you'll thank us later.
