If you're like most guitarists, you've probably picked up a mandolin once or twice and tried to play it using standard guitar scales and licks, only to find that it didn't work very well. If so, today's lesson can solve this problem.

Mandolin expert Bert Casey is one of the best at demonstrating just how easy ist is to put a few basic mandolin concepts together to get you started on your way to becoming the next David Grisman. His popular DVD, How To Play Mandolin Instructional DVD & Video, published by Watch & Learn Video Primer, is designed for the beginning mandolin student who desires an easy to follow, step-by-step instruction method for getting started on the mandolin.

The lesson starts with proper left and right hand technique and playing scales, and progresses to playing 12 popular bluegrass songs suing techniques such as hammer-ons, slides, pull-offs, and double stops.

If you've been looking for a good reason to dust off that old mandolin in the closet and make some music with it, this is your lucky day.
