Dave in SLC
Check out this at the UMGF website: http://theunofficialmartinguitarforum.yuku.com/topic/64210 I have no connection to the seller or guitar -- I just seem to have a bad case of GAS everytime I see a nice AJ for sale! rar
What's Amazon rosewood? It's a rosewood from Brazil (viz. Dalbergia spruceana) that most experts thought was the species used in most of the original AJs ... until recently, when microscopic examination of samples by German experts showed Gibson was actually using Indian (i.e., Dalbergia latifolia) in the late '30s. Amazon can look much like and sounds much like, but doesn't smell like, Brazilian (i.e., Dalbergia nigra). -- Bob R (Edited slightly for improved understandability. I hope.) Taylor Player
That is very pretty, but it sure looks pretty much like my 2005 Standard built AJ.... Those plastic bridge pins still get me.... Go with some nice double inlays from Bob Colosi and you won't regret it! I love mine!
jstancil
+1 on Colosi, you can never go wrong with some good bone end pins
Rambler
Had an LC Aj in my hands today. Nice, though not huge difference from my 05 (nothing like the gap between a 42 Lg or OJ and a std j45). Both had the crisp Aj rw thing going on.
