What Comes With A NEW Epiphone Guitar.

Epi1

Recommended Posts

Wish I would have known about this. I got mine from a GC and got nothing. They took the guitar off the wall and I had to walk out and take it home like that, bare naked guitar. It seems obvious Gibson needs to talk to it's retailers, especially Guitar Center about what they expect from them. The guy there even sold me a cord since the guitar "didn't come with one".

First guitar I ever bought...an epiphone dot deluxe, I had to carry it out of there as is...came with nothing!!

Second was an epiphone les paul standard, had to buy a cheap gig bag to take it home in...

ended up buying epiphone cases for these as the skb's at the time didnt fit the epi headstock

since then, I always buy a hardshell with my guitars...the skb's finally fit the epiphone headstocks, and tkl worked with my ibanez artcore

afaic guitars should come with hardshells...not saying a flight case, but something that will survive the ride home LOL

I bet guitar center keeps all the extras that come with and sells them seperately...wouldnt surprise me a bit

I was stoked to get such an amazing guitar in my Epiphone Wilshire Phant-o-matic! Just a truly awesome guitar right out of the box... Finish, electrics, setup, playability....just surpassed my expectations 10 fold!!! Ok, so it came with the wrong Gigbag. Called my dealer and got the correct one shipped right out no questions, no fuss, no muss. Cable? Who knew? I didn't and don't because the most important thing is the phenomenal quality guitar and customer service I got in my Epiphone and their dealers. Thanks so much Epiphone!!

I bought a new Casino.....no bumpersticker, no 10 ' cord............

I got 2 truss rod adjustment wrenches (the exact same size, also supplied with 2 little clear plastic pouchs to hold the thing in) in the box that my most recent Epiphone guitar (an EL-00) was shipped in, from Zzounds...lolmsp_biggrin.gifmsp_mellow.gif

Along with everything else, except the 10 foot cord, which, being an acoustic guitar, is not necessary msp_biggrin.gif

I'll never understand a lot of people..some take pride on acting like their 12 years old!

Why did YOU buy that Epiphone guitar in the first place? I don't hear much about the quailty,

playing ability(or your non-ability)style or finish..or the value factor compared to other brands

but I hear cry babys balling about Bumper Stickers/throw away cords/Posters that really have no

value in the first place! Go buy yourself a life!

So..why did You buy that EPI for..??? Quit Crying..Start Playing!!!

Hey I've got an even better idea! Why don't you try adding to the conversation. It's kinda cool. You post about something other than insulting people for their posts. Try it sometime. Maybe start an interesting thread about your playing. Or your Epiphone. Or your favorite strings. You know, something useful and interesting.

I know it may sound crazy, but a lot of people who have posted in this thread have posted the exact same things you're talking about in other threads. But THIS thread is about what comes with your Epiphone. Not why you bought it, or love it, or love Epiphone etc. Just what's supposed to come with your Epi. So please, calm down. Folks are not crying and whining. They're just talking about what they've gotten with their Epis.

Have bought two new Epiphones in the past month, both online from Musician's Friend.

Here's what I received with each.

PR-150 Acoustic - plastic Ziploc pouch containing:

Owner's Manual

Epiphone poster

Epiphone bumper sticker

Truss rod Allen wrench

Les Paul Special I w/P90s - plastic Ziploc pouch containing:

Owner's Manual

Epiphone poster

Epiphone bumper sticker

Truss rod Allen wrench

Bridge Allen wrench

The bridge Allen screw adjustment wrench, seems to be first mention of here. Again, no 10 foot economy cord.

Were the Allen wrenches in a separate, small clear plastic "utility pouch", with a strap to keep the flap closed ? I got one of those, with the truss rod wrench, but no small Allen wrench, to adjust the Allen screws on the bridge (height and intonation wrench). I use the ones I got with my Fendersmsp_blushing.gif

I bought an Epi "Sorrento" reissue about a month ago. I was very pleased to find that it came with a free hardshell case. Got it home and noticed that all I had was the key to the case. Several days later I contacted the store as, based on eBay pix, I could see that all the goodies were missing -- esp the "Certificate of Authenticity" -- for whatever that's worth.

We later discovered that I had been given the wrong case. The new case contained everything except for the cord and rod wrench. I was relieved. I do want to thank the sales guy that talked me into such a wonderful guitar and also thank the Manager who saw to it that the case was found.

Anyway, the point of this is that if you need that "Certificate", make sure that you receive it. I was informed by the company (Gibson?) that they will not create a second copy without physically checking out the guitar it's sposed to represent.

Poor Otis. He doesnt understand that the OP is the CEO of Epiphone and was explaining to us what is supposed to come with the purchase of our Epiphones. It doesnt matter if the stuff is cheap or have "no value". The fact is that we paid for those things with the purchase of a new Epiphone guitar and we should be getting them regardless of their perceived value. I've said it at least three times in this thread already and I'll say it again: When GC or other retialers do not include these things with your new guitar, THEY ARE STEALING FROM YOU!

When my Epi was shipped three weeks ago, it came with the case (because I asked them to ship me it in it's original case and had to pay for it separately), in the pack I got the user's manual, poster and sticker, it also had it's truss rod adjustment wrench, but really nothing else. I had to register for a warranty online, because it didn't came with the pack. Firstly I was scared my guitar was not legitimate because of this, but after it registered on their page I knew it was. Can I ask why in so many cases the warranty isn't given to the customer directly when purchased, but needs to be done online instead? Okay, in the manual it's written what page to go to get a warranty information, but still it was nicer in the old times when the warranty came with purchased thing instead.

When I bought my Les Paul Plus Top Pro (Trans Blue) 2 weeks ago I got absolutely nothing with it. <_<

I did get a ration of crap from the GC employee about not buying a Gibson. He definitely had problems with Epiphones in general calling them cheap knockoffs.

I love my Epi LP it plays great and sounds great, but I would have like to have gotten the goodies that came with the guitar since i am an avid supporter of Epiphones ( I own 3 so far).

well, they are "cheap knockoffs" I prefer to refer to them as "value added"...I can't get enough of themmsp_thumbup.gifmsp_biggrin.gif obviouslymsp_laugh.gifmsp_w00t.gif....I would have given the employee a lecture, and complained to the store manager (I'm a prick like that...no one "disses" my Epiphones.) Ya, a long lecture...

I'm sure the "commission" that employee gets selling a Gibson is a bit more than when he sells an Epiphone...More to it than being a "cheap knockoff" ...

Go straight to the store manager and give him a piece of your mind...and get what you paid for...the "goodie bag" is part of the "complete package"...Don't let them get away with that b.s.msp_sneaky.gif...really.

won't be long until you have 3 moremsp_thumbup.gifmsp_biggrin.gif, if you get the "complete package"...Tell the store manager that "fact".msp_mellow.gifdry.gifmsp_wink.gif..and if you don't get "it", tell them you'll take your business elsewhere...that will get their attention, I'm sure...Money talks, b.s. walks...

So you got my truss rod wrench, and some other lucky guy got both our cables. :)
