What Comes With A NEW Epiphone Guitar.

Epi1

Recommended Posts

I just bought a new ES-339 from GC and it came with nada. I wrote Gibson CS as to what the truss rod adjustment size should be. They told me I should have gotten a bunch of stuff with my guitar and they are sending it to me. Thumbs up Epiphone, thumbs down Guitar Center.

Just got an Orange Wildkat through Sweetwater. In the box from Epi was a cable, actual owners manual, poster, warranty info. No truss rod wrench.

I got the opposite. I got a owners manual a bumper sticker and wrench but no cord. You'd think a guitar costing 564 would at least include a bag or cheap case

Our local GC gets in Epi's, and basically throws out the shipping boxes and everything in them because they claim they don't have the room to store any of it. At least that's what one of their employees told me. Not sure if that's the case for other places. I know with Sweetwater, you get everything you're supposed to, plus candy!

I'm guessing many stores sell Epi's to people who buy one as their first guitar. So I guess some stores feel they can get away with it, and do. I understand the boxes take up space, but at least put the swag bags aside and hand them out with each guitar.

No manual and no wrench is, IMHO, unacceptable.

not sure why you need the manual but you can download it at Epiphone.com

Personally I don't, or att least like to think I don't! I was thinking more of someone who buys his or her first guitar ever. Sure, they could download the manual... but not the truss rod wrench.

Plus, it reflects badly on the brand if people get different stuff when they buy the guitar model, IMHO. Just my 2 cents.

I may have posted about this on this thread before but I just bought a g400 1966 pro and I got the manual, Allen key sticker and poster. But Epiphone should really update the poster. Turning it over and seeing the discontinued models such as g 400 custom and emperor regent make me kick my self harder for selling my g400 custom....

I just brought one home sec...

Nothing... no care manuals, no stickers, no discount coupons on string pegs. Just sent mail to the dealer bout the manual; might be useful (THANKS for mentioning that, never thought about one). The rest?.... Too busy with the guitar to put them any where anyway

There have been a lot of questions recently from our customers asking “what comes with a new Epiphone guitar?” Here’s a list of what should be included when you purchase a new Epiphone instrument. If you do not receive these items, please ask your authorized Epiphone retailer about them.

1. User’s Manual - This covers all the basic information about the care and use of our guitars as well as warranty details.

2. Epiphone Bumper Sticker

3. Epiphone 2-Sided Poster

4. eSonic/eSonic-2 User’s Manual – This goes into details regarding the features, benefits and use of our preamp system that is used in most of our acoustic/electric guitars. This comes with only acoustic/electric guitars.

5. Truss Rod Adjustment Wrench – Remember… if you don’t know how to adjust your truss rod, don’t attempt it. You could do permanent damage to your instrument. If you think an adjustment is needed, take it to an authorized service center.

Additionally, some of our guitars are priced including hard case or gigbag. Here’s a quick list of our current price list models that include cases.

• Inspired by John Lennon Casino (‘1965” and “Revolution”): Hard Case

• SG-Express : Gigbag

• Emily the Strange G-310: Gigbag (and strap)

• Zakk Wylde ZV Custom: Hard Case

• LP-Express: Gigbag

• Les Paul “Tribute”: Hard Case

• All “Packs”: Gigbag

*Note: All hard cases include a locking latch with key.

First post, and first time Epi owner. I have a Gibby SG Special faded, and now have added the G-1275, Alpine White (my lil Swiss Miss).

I received the two sided poster, the wrench, the catalogue, and some QR bar codes for not only the Epiphone website but the Epiphone Owners Newsletter (EON).

NGD post coming soon to a thread near you!

Dunno about the SGs, but my LP truss rod wrench didn't fit. I thought it did (it should, right?), but thanks to the miniature wrench I now have a half-stripped truss rod nut. That's from a single turn.

I located a wrench that actually went all the way in and hey presto...

Doesn't really matter to me as it works fine with the same-gauge-I-think-but-longer wrench, and I'll never ever sell this guitar anyway, but... c'mon.

It's possible that the one I got wasn't intended for the LP - they'd thrown out the box but got me a swag bag from another one - another model?

Just thought I'd mention it. Word of caution. This is where my notion of "if I buy a guitar, I want everything that came with it" comes into play.

Got a new Epiphone Slash Rosso Corsa outfit this week. Besides being banged up a little ( 3 way switch tip was bent and case was damaged ) it was missing the pickguard.

All other stuff ( bumper sticker, poster, and tool ) was there.

I just come across this thread and I did not get anything but the guitar with my LP Std. Pro PT. I asked them at Sam Ash when I bought it at the store, about "anything" coming with it (at least some paperwork) and they said no, nothing, which I found a little odd. <_<

I do not really need any of this stuff but, if I was supposed to get it, I want it.

I just got off the phone with a Epi rep. and he is sending some goodies to me.

In the 1960s, when a music store was selling guitars that came with nothing at all, it was usually black market. One place in San Diego offered me a discount on an Epiphone Texan if I would go down the street to a competing store that sold bootleg Gibson/Epiphone stuff, try out a few guitars, and then jot down the serial numbers so they could notify Gibson. At age 16, I was too nervous to even try, so I bought the non-bootleg Texan for $169.

Me too! Ordered Sheraton. No case/bag. No sticker. No poster. No truss rod wrench. Whatever. I don't need a sticker. I have played the hell out of this guitar! Refretted twice, upgraded pups, and it's all good. All guitars should come with a case in my opinion.

This is very helpful, I thought if you buy one you will just receive a guitar a few cords. Anyway can I please ask if Epiphone Les Paul Standard is a nice guitar? I just read a few reviews but I really want the opinion of those who really understand guitars

About month ago I bought an Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Slash Les Paul Standard PRO Premium Outfit with full price.

http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/140306-signed-2018-epiphone-le-slash-les-paul-standard-pro-premium-in-aaa-acanonda-burst/page__view__findpost__p__1945251

On a day when I bought it, at home I looked at the guitar from the Epiphone's Internet page and find out that the guitar was missing a Slash guitar strap. I asked from the dealer about it and they contacted to the distributor. Today I got answer - they can't deliver a Slash guitar strap to me, because there aren't any spares. A little disappointment, that my guitar isn't complite collector's Edition, but I can't give this guitar away either. The guitar itself is a keeper. I have a little bit mixed feelings right now what I should think about my purchase...
