i am trying to register the warranty on my sg and the online form asks for the product code. i looked at the packing card and there is nothing there that is even close to saying 'product code' so wtf where is it and what is it.

it is like an inspection card that somebody at gibson check your guitar prior of leaving the factory

It's the same as the model number listed on the warranty card. If your warranty card does not have it listed then send an e-mail to service@gibson.com with the serial number requesting the product code and we can provide that to you. Thank you for purchasing a Gibson!

So what is the difference between Model Code and a Product Code? My brandy new ES-359 Warranty pamphlet has a model of HB008M and a serial number. No product code. I would have thought the Model would be ES-359 and the product code would be the mumbo-jumbo HB008M. Are these examples of product codes: ES-175, Les Paul Standard, L6S, etc? Thanks

Can you post a pic of this one here? Looks like a nice axe, from the model #.

Very nice SG.

Here's a tip - the comment number is found in the upper right hand corner of the comment box (this is comment #8). If you click that number, a pop-up will allow you to copy a direct link to that comment. For instance, your first thread link is really for comment #21 - here's the direct link which will pull up that thread right on comment #21- http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/81660-post-pictures-of-your-white-guitars/page__view__findpost__p__1117651

Thanks! I knew there was a way to do that, I just couldn't remember it last night. So the second shot (with it's big brother) is here:

I just bought a custom classic. There is no card with it. The store said "we talked to Gibson, and you don't get one because it is not a 'real' custom". My thunderbird is not a custom either but I got one with that. My friends LP studio is not a custom and he got one. It bothers me, don't all Gibsons come with that inspection card?

The "product code" is in the red oval.
