What the....?

I go on the road for a few weeks , take a quick check in from a remote computer, and find the place a wreck!!!

Anybody else wish that Gibson/Epi would just bite the bullet already and switch to a php (or pcp or whatever it is) bulletin board server? Since we keep losing valuable info every couple of months anyway then the argument that we would lose too much info in the switch is really a moot one, right?

Anyway --- paruwi6172, I do have a backup copy of the factory codes thread but it is on disc back home so is out of my reach for awhile. It seems the most relevent update was your input on the four number codes, so if you PM me those I will update on-the-fly.

Cheers to everyone from the road.

Hit every BLUE NOTE baaaby..., I'm still playing on:-"

Hi, guys. I've been seeing many Epiphone LPs with serial numbers begining with F. I have here a few: F6080240, F97040827 which i found on the ebay. According to Guitardateproject they are made in Korea( Fine plant). Have you met any of those and what you think about it? Appreciate any answers, thanks

My LP has the "F" serial code, in fact, it's very similar to the first one you listed. Mine was built in December of 96 (as opposed to August of 96), and I can tell you it is a great guitar. Plays, feels, and sounds great.

Hey, thanks dude. I won the auction yesterday at ebay on one of these. The serial number begins with F505... so it is made in '95. I hope it is a great guitar as you said:) I've been considering another one made in Czech R. (1997) at same price wich i wanted to buy at first but i gave up because it was easier to me to pay (because i live in a country that don't support a Paypal service-Serbia:-k ) and shipping costs where lower for the first one. I don't think there is much diference between these two though there is opinion that the Czech ones are of a bit better quality...

Thanks to the OP and others who contributed to this thread. I just received a beauty of an SG in trade for a Vintage Yamaha. I went to check the serial number and was dismayed to find it did not register nor was mine like any other SG I was seeing.

The one I have I was told was a 2009 Epiphone SG G400 Custom Shop Limited Edition in Silverburst. The serial number is 09041508738 and there was a "Inspection by QC" sticker and a "Made in China" sticker on the back of the headstock as well. When I got it all the plastic was still on the pickguard, backplate and even the pickup covers. It literally is in "New" condition. From the serial number explanation above I can figure out it was built in 2009 at the Quingdau facility in China?

Here she is...... pretty sweet if you ask me!

Hi' date=' can anyone tell me the origin of this epi. The serial number is 30911479 or 30811479 without a letter. The owner says its the older model from '91 or '93. ,he also says its made in Japan or USA which i am very suspicios of. Here are some pics:

You must be mistaking the B for a 3. I can't see in your picture. It looks very legit, and I would put it in the '90s probably Korean made. The serial makes no sense though. You should try to get a better pic or figure it out for yourself.

Ok guys I need your help. I'm in the process of getting my Casino. Here's where y'all com in. The serial # is GG 05080884. Now, we look at the serial # and we can see that GG isn't an Epiphone serial. Now I need to hear from the others that have one of these GG's. Because mine is a lefty with a Bigsby. The GG may be the lefty serial #? I gotta know so PLEASE help if you can. This guitar plays UNBELIEVABLY well and has tone and sustain for days. Better than the model 100 that got me hooked on these beauties in the first place. And that one plays like a dream compared to my Ibanez's.
