TP
Not sure if "The Paul" counts as some do not consider them real Les Pauls.... I do though and likely the closest I will get to the real thing unless I win the lotto..... But I have my "The Paul" and as an acoustic guy, that is all I really need. 1979 Gibson "The Paul" (1978 to 1982)

Discontinued I believe in 2007. The Standard Faded's with 50's necks were totally discontinued in late 2008.

Lovely as that guitar is (and it IS lovely!!!) if it were mine I doubt I'd be able to prevent myself from buffing the top to a nice gloss. I know that defeats the whole point of it but I suspect it may look even nicer with a bit more shine. And they sound better with the P/G fitted... Very pretty as-is, though! jgibby
Here's my baby. Almost sold her, but realized she was more rare than I thought. Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway. July 12th, 1999, Nashville plant. When looking at other similar DCs around on the web, it seems that mine does not have the white trim on the neck, and the truss rod cover is just plain gold with no writing. Every other one I've seen has the white fretboard trim and a fancier truss rod cover. Anyone know if this is an indication of a factory seconds piece? I believe production started in 1998 and discontinued in 2005; supposedly because they were cutting too heavily into SG sales. That may be a myth. Apologies for the crappy pics; the only camera I have right now is my iPhone.

starjag
Hi! First post here. This is a 2009 Les Paul Special Double Cut in gloss heritage cherry. I do not have any additional info about the guitar, nor the model. What else can you tell me about this model? When was it discontinued? Also, I would like to upgrade to a tonepros bridge and stoptail... what is the proper replacement (AVR-II TP6 T3BP T3BT)?
