As seen in several previous lessons, double stops are essential to anyone's guitar playing style. If you think back to the playing of Jimi Hendrix, Cornell Dupree, and Steve Cropper, double stops—or harmony notes—were a major part of their respective styles, whether they were using slides, hammer-ons, or pull-offs.

 

Arlen Roth's lesson for today takes a look at all three double-stop techniques, and demonstrates how all three guitairists made them an important part of playing both rhythm and lead parts.
