guitarman84
love the looks of that Tweedy sig, had thought about selling my white standard off and getting one but I just wish it had an ebony or rosewood board. How do you like the "Mexican ebony" so far? Mine have the classic rosewood board and bb1 pick ups, and and plays just fantastic! :) no Mexican ebony at all.. ;)

Jeff-7
Mine have the classic rosewood board and bb1 pick ups, and and plays just fantastic! :) no Mexican ebony at all.. ;) Hrm last I knew they were using curaçao de negro for the boards. Still listed that way on Sweetwater's site, I'll have to give Paul a ring.
JM2112
Mine have the classic rosewood board and bb1 pick ups, and and plays just fantastic! :) no Mexican ebony at all.. ;) Nothing wrong with katalox (aka: Mexican ebony), it's very dense and a great tone wood. SGgypsyboy
katalox is an outstanding timber. much more dense than indian rosewood and a bit more stable.
guitarman84
I have nothing against katalox, just saying that on my Jeff tweedy there's a classic rosewood board.. ;) ..there are many "versions" of this guitar, for what I've seen (and I don't know why..): blue mist vs pelham blue, bb1 vs 57 classic, classic crown inlay vs 50th anniversary inlay, rosewood board vs Curacao de Negro board.. ;)

Big Bill
My deepest apologies. I clicked in the wrong forum. Please feel free to chastise me as necessary. Damn Rick, don't you have any shame? It's like dropping your pant during Sunday service.
Motörheadbanger
SirMilo! Killer '61 re-issue; so weird to see it here. I bet that it has the best headstock break/repair you have ever seen...I think your guitar is the one I bought from and sold to Guitar Center in Austin Texas. Killer grain on that one too. I replaced the truss cover and tip.

slappy2x
Here's my girl......a 2003 SG Standard. Added a PU ring to the bridge to better align that PU with the angle of the strings. Also shielded all of the cavities and installed Grover Rotomatics.......she's a player!
