Osama Bin Laden is dead

I'm a bit suspicious. When they got Saddam they showed film straight away. In the hole out of it and in custody. Yet nothing yet of Bin Laden. He knew a lot of American secrets as you trained him. I hope he is dead and a deal hasn't been done. If he is dead, I dread the 'fall out' from this. There could be another 9/11 now.

There's nothing to cheer about. Believe me.

Obama has a lot of guts doing what he did. Hands up to him. A brave man.

We can't live our lives or make our decisions based on fear of repercussions.

"Don't arrest that bank robber... it will piss off the other bank robbers"

"Don't hand out speeding tickets, it will offend other speeders"

I DO wish we'd captured him alive, but won't bemoan the point. Out of action is out of action.

+1 to the suspicion based on lack of video/photo evidence.

I thought the whole things with Sadam Hussein was handled very tastelessly.

With this and under the circumstances of this case, I think in every way, America has done a fine job here. I completely understand the need to get rid of the body asap and by all accounts the job was done efficiently and professionally.

Saddam was alive, Osama was shot in the eye.

Have you seen pictures of a person shot in the head wih a round that is meant to be lethal? I can send you the link to one and you will understand. The world does not need to see that, it will not be popular, that is why they are weighing whether to show pictures or not.

One thing is that shooting him in the face is a way to assure he won't gain a rockstar/martyr status like Ché Guevara did when his picture was released. I wonder if that was the directive or whomever shot him got excited. As reported Osama did not reach for a gun.

I disagree with you in that there is no point in living in fear, if AQ wants to attack becasue of this that's fine we will fight back like are fighting them right now and it isn't like they were not committing terrorist acts at the moment anyway.

Based on the fact that the US recovered intelligence at this compound I think AQ leaders are on the move/run.

Haha, their life is a honeymoon, how can they go on a honeymoon on top of that?

In the words of Mel Brooks: it is good to be the King!

I guess I did not even think the fact that they will have one.

Going back to the pictures on Osama, I hope they do not release them, I bet you that will make a lot of people angry and becasue of that there will be terror acts. It is not worth to risk lives to satiate skeptics.

besides a true skeptic will in turn doubt the pictures, so it will all be for nothing.

You see to be a skeptic you don't have to have proof of anything, all you have to have is questions.

If skeptics would have to prove their points a lot of times they would not get far.

I agree. After the invasion of Iraq and the toppling of Suddam, the terrorists waited about 11 years and 911 happened. In my humble opinion, attacks will resume once the terrorists believe we no longer keep the threat of attacks in the front of our minds. This not only applies to those of us in the US, but also Europe and the rest of the "infidel" culture. Let us not make "fools" of ourselves celebrating the death of Bin Laden.

I don't think anybody is celebrating the end of terrorism, the death of Osama Bin Laden is a huge milestone on the never ending war on terror, simple as that. You have to celebrate positive milestones.

There was terrorism before him and there will be terrorism after him.

I even wonder why there are skeptics on his death, he has released videos recently. It would be as easy a showing up on another video with a current newspaper to discredit the US Government altogether, that would be a catastrophe for us right?

Obama would be impeached if these news were fake.

The US Government identified the guy 3 diffrerent ways, they did not need to but they have to becasue they have all their tokens on the table.

I would like to bet money with these skeptics to see if they really mean their doubts.

By Jim Garamone, American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Osama bin Laden received a Muslim ceremony as he was buried at sea, a senior defense official said in Washington, D.C., May 2.

The religious rites were performed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in the North Arabian Sea and occurred within 24 hours of the terrorist leader's death, said the official.

"Preparations for at-sea [burial] began at 1:10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time and were completed at 2 a.m.," said the official.

The burial followed traditional Muslim burial customs, and bin Laden's body was washed and placed in a white sheet, said the official.

"The body was placed in a weighted bag. A military officer read prepared religious remarks, which were translated into Arabic by a native speaker," the official added.

Afterward, bin Laden's body was placed onto a flat board, which was then elevated upward on one side and the body slid off into the sea.

The deceased terrorist was buried at sea because no country would accept bin Laden's remains, a senior defense official said.

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Defense Department officials are sure it was the body of bin Laden. CIA specialists compared photos of the body with known photos of bin Laden and said with 95-percent certainty it was the terrorist leader, a senior intelligence official said.

In addition, bin Laden's wife identified the al-Qaida leader by name while the strike team was still in the compound, said the intelligence official.

CIA and other specialists in the intelligence community "performed the initial DNA analysis matching a virtually 100-percent DNA match of the body against the DNA of several of bin Laden's family members," the official added.

Hate to Cut and Paste, but This is a press release from the Navy. Dispute it, go right ahead and dispute it!

This just in...Bin Laden's last words:

"I need a house full of Navy Seals like I need a hole in the head."

Hmmm......I thought his last words were, " Honey, did you order a pizza ?? " [flapper][unsure][scared] ..

Having arrived at the Gates of Heaven for Judgement Day, Osama Bin Laden meets a man with a beard. 'Are you Mohammed?' he asks. 'No my son, I am St. Peter; Mohammed is higher up.' Peter then points to a ladder that rises into the clouds .

Delighted that Mohammed should be higher than St. Peter, Osama climbs the

ladder in great strides, climbs up through the clouds and comes into a

room where he meets another bearded man. He asks again, 'Are you Mohammed?'

'Why no he answers, I am Moses; Mohammed is higher still .'

Exhausted, but with a heart full of joy he climbs the ladder yet again,

he discovers a larger room where he meets an angelic looking man with a

beard. Full of hope, he asks again, 'Are you Mohammed?' 'No, I am Jesus, the Christ...you will find Mohammed higher up. '

Mohammed higher than Jesus! Man, oh man! Bin Laden can hardly contain his delight and climbs and climbs ever higher. Once again, he reaches an even larger room where he meets this truly magnificent looking man with a silver white beard and once again repeats his question:

"Are you Mohammed?" he gasps as he is by now, totally out of breath from all his climbing. 'No, my son.... I am Almighty God, the Alpha and the Omega, but you look exhausted. Would you like a cup of coffee?"

Osama says, “Yes please”! As God looks behind him, he claps his hands and yells out: "Hey Mohammed - two coffees!"

It feels anti-climatic to me! Sorry. I can't get into all the hyperbole by the government and media. 911 touched my soul deeply but I did not know anyone personally that died from the tragedy. I hope that the victims' surviving friends and relatives will be more at peace. Some may, some may not.

Yet, after 10 long years, two presidents, and torturing people... we finally get ONE man. bin Laden's organization is merely a hydra and one head that rolls will not stop the snake. The symbol of his death will be fleeting and new zealots on all sides will rise and continue the WAR on terrorism.

I am extremely proud of the men and women in uniform and their efforts to protect our country. I am proud of the Seals and their actions. I am proud of this country but I cannot feel justice has been served because of one death.

I don't care who, what, why, when, how, political agenda/affiliation, religious view/affiliation, moral view or how long it took. None of it matters. The world is minus one of many of its giant A-holes that lived only to create and cause more misery to a world where the majority of people just want a peaceful life. Full Stop.
