AlanH Posted July 3, 2011 Share Posted July 3, 2011 Hi All, Following the recent purchase of my Gibby '50s Studio, I'm regretably having to put my two Epi LPs up for sale. I know this us probably not quite the correct forum to post this in but I wanted to offer these two beautiful guitars up to fellow Epi forumites before I advertise via other routes. (Hope this is OK mods) Anyway, both guitars are in immaculate/pristine condition. I'm strictly a home player meaning that these guitars have been stored in my house since I bought them and they both have minimal fret wear. Each has a nice low action with superb playability and excellent tuning stability. I've owned them from new and, in these times of fakes/unauthorsed seconds, I have kept hold of receipts to prove their authenticity. I have also kept the original boxes for each in my loft. I'd really rather not post them out. However, I am in a central UK position just 10 minutes drive off the M6 and would be prepared to wait a couple of weeks until somebody could get over. Week day collections would be fine as I can easily arrange to work from home. Given their condition, guaranteed authenticity and upgrades I think that the prices I'm asking compared to potentially risky eBay purchases are fair. If you decide against buying when you come to collect then that is fine. I'm pretty certain you won't, though. So here they are..... First up is my 2007 (Qingdao made) Les Paul Standard Plus in Honeyburst, flamed top. It was purchased new from Peter Cooke's Guitar World in London shortly after their agreement under the old Rosetti distribution ended. This guitar has been upgraded with a pair of Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz pickups that have four conductor wires. I bought these pups from a local guitar shop. The selling price for this guitar is £250, including the original Epi pickups in the SD packaging. If you want to buy an Epi hard shell LP case, this will cost an extra £35. NB. The pickups and the case were also bought new. This beauty was bought online from Thomann. It has been upgraded with a pair of Gibson 490R and 490T pickups in the chrome finish. Because these pickups were bought as aftermarket they also have the four conductor wires. As such, the wiring and pots could be altered for coil tapping or various phase/series options should you so wish. The selling price for this guitar is £200, again including the original Epi pickups in the Gibson packaging. These pickups were also bought new. Again, if you want to buy an Epi hard shell LP case, this will cost an extra £35. My Honeyburst Les Paul Standard Plus is back up for sale. Another iminent guitar purchase (news to follow) means that, in the interests of marital harmony, I will regretably have to sell her. The price above still applies - £250 including the stock Epi pickups in the original Seymour Duncan boxes. As such the buyer could either reinstall the stock Epi pups and sell the Duncans or sell both sets and install pups of his/her choice. Epiphone hardshell case is offered for £35 extra. I've only been able to meet one other member face to face, (midiman) and it was a real pleasure. I'm sad that your beautiful guitars are leaving. But I'm also glad that you've replaced them.
