... is there such a thing as a light rain in Malaysia?!? [biggrin] ..... the boys in red are praying for rain,.... Alonso specially.

NO, and I don't know about Alonso praying for rain, a tail happy car in the rain is a real handful, even for someone of his considerable talent.

Alonso
Perez
Hamilton
Weber
Raikkonen

Sergio Perez in the Sauba Ferrari drove the race of his life, he came at Alonso 3 times, getting the gap to under a car length at one stage, awesome drive.

Great race!,... nice to see at least 6 teams being competitive this year. Have to agree on Perez,... brilliant drive from the kid, shame about Peter Sauber and company doing a bit of a mind fcuk on him with 5 laps to go. With him making up 1 to 1.5sec/lap and with the massively long DRS straight aways, he could of easily passed Alonso's car and taken top spot. Alonso did prove his worth today in that ill handling Ferrari, give him a sniff of potential and he'll make the best of it. The true worth of that Ferrari lies somewhere in between Alonso and Massa's results.

Yep, epic race and racing. Perez was truly astonishing and a complete turnup for the books.

My only concern is when the races "dry out" will it be the same teams fighting for the spoils again. it really is a breath of fresh air to see the little guys spoiling for a fight.
Living a dream. ( Hat removed ).

Not only that, but if they'd changed him to dry tyres one or two laps earlier (as they should have done), he would have won the race for sure.

I'm guessing that he's in a Ferrari next year alongside Fred.

I've always been a bit of a Ford fan myself, great history of racing. One of my all time favourite Ford designs was the GT40.

I hate these three week waits between (F1) races. There's not much televised (aside from the usual roundy rounds) this weekend. There is a Rolex race this afternoon from Birmingham Alabama (Barber Motorsports Park),... not a big fan of the Rolex series either,... poor mans LeMans series (IMHO), but at least it's a good circuit.

LOL, yeah, it's sort of like that isn't it. I like the Road America circuit they race at, nice and wide, undulating through the bush (woods), beautiful circuit.

Usually the MotoGP bikes fill in the gaps of the F1 breaks, but they don't start until next weekend, hopefully Stoner will be world champion again this year too.

Damn it, a Holden (General Motors) qualified on pole for race 2, Fords were 2 3 and 4, missed out on pole by 1/100th of a second, close but no cigar. Craig Lowndes was the driver of the Holden, which sort of makes things ok, he is the friendliest and most affable guy around, a truly good guy.

Lorenzo qualified on pole, Stoner was second and Crutchlow third, they're a little slow getting the results online, will post a link when available.
